Circular pits, probably bomb craters of Second World War date, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 distributed across the north-facing slopes of Shaugh Moor, Shaugh Prior. The earthworks have been destroyed by the expansion of clay extraction in the second half of the 20th century.

At least 11 circular pits up to 4m in diameter are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 distributed across the north-facing slopes of Shaugh Moor, Shaugh Prior. The pits are interpreted as bomb craters of Second World War date.
The earthworks have been destroyed by the expansion of clay extraction in the second half of the 20th century.
