An earthwork pit, 17 metres across, and attached 3 metre wide curvilinear ditch to the east are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1946 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2013. They are clearly defined on the 1946 photographs, but neither are depicted on the available historic mapping, and they probably post-date the early-20th century, They are interpreted as a trackway leading to an extractive pit, possibly associated with the building to the east which appears to have been constructed between 1904 and 1946.
