Summary

Linear and curvilinear banks are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s on the north-east facing slopes of a combe to the west of Modbury. The banks are not marked on historic maps and might be the remains of former field boundaries of medieval or post-medieval origin that were removed by the mid-19th century.

The visible earthworks do not correspond with any boundary depicted on the Tithe Map for Modbury.

The bank does not correspond with any boundary depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey but is in keeping with the character or the surrounding field pattern.
It is interpreted as the remains of a field boundary of medieval or post-medieval origin that was removed prior to the 1840s.
