Curvilinear banks, circa 5.5m wide and irregularly shaped mounds, between 13m and 17m long, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019. The curvilinear banks are northeast to southwest and northwest to southeast aligned and partly define two rectilinear enclosures at their eastern extent. Adjacent to these enclosures are a cluster of four flat-topped mounds. The earthworks do not correspond with any features in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map. They are interpreted as the relict field boundaries, enclosures and building platforms of a possible medieval shrunken settlement associated with Lower and Higher Holsome located to the immediate northeast and northwest. Any settlement here had evidently been abandoned and demolished by the mid-19th century.
