A curvilinear earthwork ditch, approximately one metre wide, is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1945 and on images derived from lidar data captured in 2013, on the south facing valley slopes south-east of Southdown. It broadly follows the contour, dropping less than 5 metres across a visible length of approximately 360 metres. It is interpreted as a post-medieval or 19th century simple catchmeadow. The water source appears to be the watercourse to the east. No features are depicted in this exact location on the available historic mapping, and the system probably went out of use by the late-19th century.
