A mound or platform is identifiable as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017 to the south-west of Blanksmill Bridge. It is probably the site of a former settlement of possible medieval to post-medieval origin, possibly the former Blanks Mill.

Full description

South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.

The visible earthwork corresponds with plots listed in the apportionments as plot 604 Orchard,
605 house, court etc, 606 Orchard and 607 Marsh.

The visible earthwork does not correspond with any plots depicted on the Ordnance Survey 25inch First Edition map.

A roughly triangular platform or mound is identifiable as an earthwork.

A mound or platform is identifiable on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017 as an earthwork circa 67m by 45m across, to the south-west of Blanksmill Bridge.
The visible earthwork corresponds with plots depicted on the Tithe Map for Malborough listed in the Apportionments as house, court, orchards and marsh (plots 604-607).
The plots and associated structures are not depicted on the Ordnance Survey 25inch First Edition map.
The mound is interpreted as the site of a former settlement of possible medieval to post-medieval origin that was cleared or destroyed between circa 1840 and 1880, possibly the former Blanks Mill.
