Pits containing ovens 1-3 were cut into ditch 529 (recorded as part of trackway MDV128935). Ovens 1 and 2 predate 3, but no relationship between the two could be seen. All represented by large quantities of burnt clay. Probably used for baking, rather than drying corn due to the small size and lack of burnt grains found. Oven 3 survived best, set within a cut which removed most of ovens 1 and 2. Base was lined with burnt clay with a thin layer of charcoal in places. Several stake holes for possible super structure identified. Interior measured 0.6m across with mouth of flue narrowing to 0.3m. Flue opened to north. Date of 370-170 BC (calibrated radiocarbon date) corresponds to Middle Bronze Age; contemporary with the nearby houses. Sherds of South western Decorated and Poole Harbour black-burnished fabric and Exeter Fortress Ware C. also recovered.
