Full description
Butler, J., 1993, Dartmoor Atlas of Antiquities: Volume Four - The South-East, 145-7, Map 57, Figure 57.15 (Monograph). SDV337765.
Remains of Enclosure 'A' to the north of the settlement at 'Gripper's Hill' with Hut Circle '2' at the western side. The hut was excavated before it was destroyed when the Avon Dam was constructed in 1954. The surrounding wall was never very substantial and was incomplete even before work started on the dam. Now only short lengths of the wall are visible.

Field Investigation on 30 th June 1977. On the south slopes of Gripper's Hill at 310-325 metres OD is a settlement which consists of three contiguous enclosures containing eight huts. Enclosure I on the plan with hut circles Nos 1 and 2 have been entirely destroyed by quarrying.
