Summary

Megalithic granite stone of 1.3 metres high by 1 metre wide and 0.3 metres thick may possibly be the remains of a burial chamber. Two 'Standing Stones' are shown on modern mapping.

Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1978, SX68NE72 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV256066.

(27/06/1978) SX 65158975. A large granite slab 1.3m high, 1.0m wide and 0.3m thick, leaning at about 35o to the north and supported on its underside by a centrally placed upright pointed stone; it is set into a ? natural mound. The feature although extensively mutilated, has a man-made appearance and may possibly represent the remains of a burial chamber. (See SX 68 NE 73).
Discovered during field investigation. See photograph.
