A circular depression circa 15 metres across is visible as a subtle earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2007 and 2013. The depression is situated in a south-east facing field north-west of Buckland Abbey.
The depression does not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps and is tentatively interpreted as an extractive pit of probable post-medieval origin.
