Full description

South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments, 1427-1429 (Cartographic). SDV359954.

Sloo is depicted on the Tithe Map; L-shaped range of buildings to the north of the road in plot 1428 and two additional buildings in the plot south of the road (1429).

Sloo is believed to have been the home of Henry de la Sloo in 1330; A 1796 Survey refers to there being formerly 2 tenants and the 1851 Census refers to one farmhouse being unoccupied (citing Gover 1931, 105 and Devon Record Office transcript of Goldworthy Court Roll CR1210; 1851 Census: HO/107/1895/f424/p6).
