Name:Unlikely tinners hut, western bank of Spriddle Lake

Summary

Possible site of a medieval or later tinner's hut had been recorded on the western bank of Spriddle Lake stream by Butler in 1991. However, an archaeological field survey in 1994 located no traces of the tinner's hut. A tinner's hut was located 50 metres to the south (see Monument HOB UID 1064772).

(21/09/1994) Spoil heaps of tin-streaming waste occur in the area around NGR SX 57667967. No trace of a building depicted by Butler (1) could be found. A ruined tinners hut lies by the confluence of Spridle Lake and a small stream some 50m to the south (Monument HOB UID 1064772).
