Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
The plots are recorded as orchards.

An earthwork depression is visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The depression does not correpsond with any features depicted on historic maps. It extends across two plots both recorded as orchards in the Tithe Survey. Orchard banks are visible as earthworks extending into the depression indicating they post-date the feature (MDV131558).
The depression is interpreted as a post-medieval to early 19th century extractive pit that ceased extraction prior to circa 1840, after which it was planted as an orchard.
