Two irregular shaped earthwork depressions are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The depressions correspond with an orchard depicted on historic maps, which later established as woodland. A pond is depicted within the plot in the mid to late 20th century. The plot to the immediate southwest is recorded as Marlpit Moor in the Tithe Survey. The depressions are interpreted as marl pits of post-medieval to 19th century origin, that passed out of use prior to circa 1840 and thereafter was established as an orchard. One of the pits appears to have been used as a pond since the mid-20th century.
