The banks is orientated approximately east to west and does not correspond with any features depicted on historic maps. It aligns with a curving field boundary depicted on both the Tithe Map and the First Edition OS map. The bank is interpreted as a section of field boundary of probable medieval origin, that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
