Name:Quarry on the north-west flank of Doe Tor

Summary

A small stone quarry lies at the foot of the north-west flank of Doe Tor above the left bank of the Doe Tor Brook. The quarry is roughly circular, 12m in diameter with a narrow access track entering fron the west. Spoil lies downslope, west, of the working. The antiquity of this quarry is unknown but is does appear on the Ordnance Survey 1:2500 1884 map. A small circular depression at SX5389 8503, 170m east-south-east of this quarry is probably the start of another working.
