A series of shallow irregular shaped earthwork depressions are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. They are situated along the roadside and do not correspond with any features depicted on historic maps. They are visible, some less clear that others, on aerial photographs dating to the 1940s. The superficial geology is recorded as comprising clay, silt, sand and gravel. The depressions are interpreted as extractive work of probable 19th century to early 20th century origin.
