A curvilinear bank between circa 6m and 8m wide and forming an irregular shape is visible as an earthwork on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The bank encloses a raised area of field on a south-west facing slope and does not correspond with any features depicted on historic maps. The plot is recorded as 'Chapples Orchard' on the Tithe Map and may have been the location of a chapel (MDV116267). The bank is interpreted as a field boundary of medieval to post-medieval origin, that passed out of use prior to circa 1840, and that may have been associated with a former chapel.
