A series of closely parallel north-east to south-west orientated linear banks circa 4m apart are visible as earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The banks are situated within a plot recorded as 'Round Close Orchard' on the Tithe Map. The First Edition OS map shows the orchard as having passed out of use and comprising sporadic trees. The Second Edition OS map depicts an orchard in the south-east half of the plot. The orchard avoids an area of a recorded extractive pit to the immediate north (MDV132058). Aerial photographs dating from the 1940s show the orchard to have once again passed out of use. The banks are interpreted as planting ridges for orchard trees possibly of post-medieval to 19th century origin, but more likely of late 19th to early 20th century origin, that passed out of use by the mid-20th century.
