(13/10/1988) At SX 66727890, adjacent to the Postbridge - Widecombe road is a holed stone, originally a gate hanger. A slab 1m long and of triangular section, it has been set upright in the ground to act as a gate stop, and tapers from 0.5m to 0.3m. The socket hole, near the top of the W face, is 8cms in diameter and 7cms deep, much below the average size of 11.4cms by 9.6cms given by Worth.
