Summary

A dry silted leat channel on the NE and E flank of Langridge. Originating on the North Teign River it probably supplied tinworkings on the floodplain of the Stonetor Brook. It comprises a channel 1.0m wide and 0.4m deep with a massive bank 25m wide and 0.8m high.

Royal Commission for the Historical Monuments of England, 1987-1993, Duchy Farms Project Survey Visit, S. Probert (Report - Survey). SDV350839.

(15/08/1991) SX 64668670 to SX 64728645. A dry silted leat channel on the NE and E flank of Langridge. Originating on the North Teign River it probably supplied tinworkings on the floodplain of the Stonetor Brook. It comprises a channel 1.0m wide and 0.4m deep with a massive bank 25m wide and 0.8m high.
At SX 64768658 the bank has been pierced by the leat which then flows at a lower level to SX 64748646. A further breech at SX 64708665 diverted water into a small area of streamworks (SX 68 NW 71).
