Summary

Record of a barrow that once stood in a field north-west of Gisperdown farm. It was removed in the 1950s during a process of field levelling by the farmer. No cist was encountered and only one upright stone in the material removed.

Barrow. Gisperdown. Site of. Removed in 1950's. Vis=estimated -/-/1979 (robinson, r. ). A barrow on gisperdown farm south brent destroyed in the process of field levelling by the owner, some time in the 1950's or 60's. He describes it as having been mainly of earth about 5m diam and 1m heig with one stone set upright in the substance of the barrow. No sign of a kistvaen is reported. It lay roughly in the centre of the field known as gisperdown down at sx695632.
