Summary
Feather-and-tare split stone, dockwell gate. Extant. Line of drilled holes across stone. Vis=-/10/1978 (robinson, r. ). A granite boulder near the dockwell moor gate shows incomplete splitting by the feather-and-tare method. The boulder measures about 1m x 1.5m x 0.5m. On its upper surface and along its axis are eight drilled holes 2cm diameter and about 10cm deep in a straight line. For some reason the stone has been left in this state and the splitting not completed. Its location is about 10m from the ring cairn on the west side (about 60m from the wall of 'round park').
