Full description

South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.

A small square structure depicted on the Tithe Map here within a large, unnumbered plot. Lies to the south-west of Lower Cheston farm along with a garden plot (number 1942) and orchard (no. 1940); all part of land owned by Diptford Church Lands, so appears likely to be associated.

The late 19th century historic map depicts this substantial dwelling for the first time sp presumably the house was constructed some time after the 1840s tithe map depiction. Pump ('P.') shown in front of the house. Orchard plots indicated to the west and south.
