Full description

Track bed at SX56520 73443. Tramway track bed and line of setts leading south-westward from the main Foggintor quarry face. The setts can be seen in the vicinity of a tramway crossroad, where they intersect with those approaching from the north (DR+T_FQ_013). The setts typically have two holes in the surface. They lead across the crossroad and end at the level grass verge. The remainder of the track bed they followed is now entirely grassed over and lightly strewn with boulders. The tramway route appears to have continued on a straight alignment towards a forked spoil tip (DR+T_FQ_014). Its route towards the spoil tip is now cut through by a mirey and reedy channel.
Only the setts in the immediate vicinity of the crossroad are visible and these are surrounded by the trickling water run-off from the mirey quarry entrance, which obscures the tramway's northeasterly course. The south west section of the route is grassed over, rock-strewn and ultimately truncated.
