A hut at this location was identified from aerial images.

(13/06/1996) One of a cluster of 27 hut circles recorded in 1996 on South Tawton Common which together with other nucleations form a large settlement complex (MDV27948). They each survive as a stone and earth bank surrounding a circular or oval area. The interiors vary in diameter between 2.4m and 4.5m, the surrounding wall varies in height between 0.15m and 0.6m. All the huts are of the simple plan type and 9 have visible doorways.
Hut P [SX 62319125]. A 0.8m wide and 0.3m high single orthostat and rubble bank wall surround a 4.5m diameter internal area. A west-south-west facing gap may represent a doorway.
[Gerrard's grid references from 1996 (compass survey?) have been matched as closely as possible to the huts located from aerial photographs. A hut at this location could be identified from aerial images; it is thought to be Gerrard's hut P. Richards, A. F., 15/12/2023].
