Summary

Monolith on salcombe hill, sidmouth, now lying in southernmost corner of field. It was known to have been standing upright in centre of field in 1946. A piece of breccia, its broad flat base measures 1.5m in diameter, and it tapers to a height of 2m (pollard + luxton).

POLLARD + LUXTON, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV117541.

Monolith on salcombe hill, sidmouth, now lying in southernmost corner of field. It was known to have been standing upright in centre of field in 1946. A piece of breccia, its broad flat base measures 1.5m in diameter, and it tapers to a height of 2m (pollard + luxton).

NMR CITING OS, Untitled Source (Report - Survey). SDV132884.

Vis=7/3/1989(os) now lies at n side of field boundary at sy14188786. C1.7m diameter x c2m long. One of a number of conglomerate blocks in the locality for which any prehistoric attribution is at best uncertain (nmr citing os).
