Wood barton farm, kentisbeare. Farmstead occupied at least as early as reign of edward iii (chalk). Woodbarton, previously known as orway porch and orway's hayes was hewisa in domesday. It was held by hamo of william capra. Before the conquest it was held by wichin. In 1285, william de orweye held it. Orway porch should not be confused with orway.(reichel). Documented in 1407 (mawer et al).
