'Beckland' marked on 1880s-1890s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map, comprising buildings around a roughly triangular yard with the farmhouse to the east and additional buildings to the north, west and east.

Beckland was called Bocheland at the time of the Domesday Survey. It was held by Odo.
