Full description
Hicks, C. E., 1946, Early Methodism in Tavistock, 241 (Article in Serial). SDV266091.
A survey of Tavistock made in 1755 does not record a Methodist Meeting House, but one is shown on a map of the parish, circa 1780, on the site of present Church Hall in West Street. At the time of the 1755 survey this site was an almshouse, given by Elizabeth Moore in 1665, which was probably converted to a meeting house.
