Name:Pillow mounds south of Tor Royal Farm

Summary

Two ditched pillow mounds occupying a fairly steep E slope at 400m OD. They lie, roughly parallel, down the slope in an enclosed, relatively stone-free arable field. Both earthen mounds, disturbed by rabbit burrows, have evidence of stones and boulders in their bases. They are flat-topped and square-ended.

(09/02/1989) Two ditched pillow mounds occupying a fairly steep E slope at 400m OD. They lie, roughly parallel, down the slope in an enclosed, relatively stone-free arable field. Both earthen mounds, disturbed by rabbit burrows, have evidence of stones and boulders in their bases. They are flat-topped and square-ended.
SX 60117255. 10.3m long, on average 4.2m wide and 1.1m high. The ditch, disturbed and silted at each end is c.1.5m wide and 0.4m deep.
SX 60107256. 9.5m long a maximum 4.5m wide and 1.1m high with a silted ditch a maximum 1.7m wide and 0.4m deep.
