Full description

Griffiths, F. M., Corn Ditch on edge of Wigford Down (Personal Comment). SDV215232.

On the Ordnance Survey 6 inch 1954 historic map the fields appear to be a classic pattern of accretion one by one, not a single 'newtake.' The cornditch therefore presumably represents a remodelling of earlier field boundaries. The limits of the extent of the cornditch are not shown by National Trust (25/11/1982?).

Royal Air Force, 1946, RAF/106G/UK/1190, 3237-8 (Aerial Photograph). SDV340833.

Cropmark of field boundary at SX 545644. It is integral with other banks associated with Bronze Age-Iron Age hut circles, and may well be of the same age.

National Trust, 1984, Goodameavy, Devon (Pamphlet). SDV325229.

The outer boundary of Cadworthy fields, where they join Wigford Down, is a cornditch.
