1843, Bishops Nymton Tithe Apportionment (Cartographic). SDV57578.
1843 tithe apportionment documents the name of this field (no. 1063), as Castle Close.

Lidar 2013, show a well-formed but eroded enclosure. Approximatley 60 m both northsouth and eastwest measured from bank-to-bank. Straight side of D shape to the south. Possible eastern entrance, which may have lead to water some 400m due east.
