Full description
Department of Environment, 1972, Urban District of Crediton, 14 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV39769.
No 25, High Street. Eighteenth century altered, three storey, three windows, brick, painted. Coupled brackets at eaves. Mainly recessed sash windows with glazing bars. Wood Doric doorcase left, sash window, centre, and vehicle way through under, right.
Passmore, A. J., 2008, Archaeological Recording at Nos 26 and 27 High Street, Crediton, Devon, 7 (Report - non-specific). SDV349992.
Nos 26 and 27 High Street front the High Street and incorporates a passageway along its eastern side that provides access to the rear of the site and to a yard serving Nos 23-25 High Street. There is clear evidence in the fabric of the building and roof structure that Nos 26 and 27 were constructed not only together, but also as part of a larger row of buildings. The present roof structure continues into No. 25. The earlier (original) roofline was lower, and a similar layout can be observed in No. 24, which is also probably part of the same row of buildings.
