Summary

Hut circles were identified on a steep east-facing moorland hillslope covered by scattered clitter. They are not particularly well defined, with tumbled walls constructed from large boulders and upright slabs standing to a maximum 0.8 metres high. The interiors are sloping and the entrances are not well defined.

Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV232290.

Des=worksheet (greeves 1985). (12/06/1985) At least two small prehistoric hut circles on the hillside c 100m above taw marsh. Stones of hut circles barely break surface of ground. It is probable there are others in the area.

Hut circle is visible on the 1940s aerial photography.

Not visible on 1946 air photos at this precise grid reference, but three hut circles are visible about 250m - 300m to the north on the same slope. Crf:SX69SW/120/1.

(04/09/1997) Hut circle forming part of unenclosed settlement. Diameter 8m. Double orthostat wall 1m wide, 0.8m high. Internal area 50.24. Western part of hut survives as buried feature. Not terraced into hillside.

(04/02/2004) Centred SX 61419143. Hut circles were identified on a steep east-facing moorland hillslope covered by scattered clitter. The three unenclosed huts at SX61379145, SX61419143 (this one), and SX61399141 are not particularly well defined. They have tumbled walls with large boulders and upright slabs standing to a maximum 0.8 metres high. The interiors are sloping and the entrances are not well defined.
