Name:One of two huts c.1km north-east of the Thirlstone

Summary

Three possible hut circles were tentatively recorded by the Royal Commission in 1985 from aerial photographs. Gerrard's 1999 visit located two; this is the northern hut. Diameter measures 3.7m. Internal area 10.74m. Rubble wall 1.7m wide, 0.45m high. 160 degree facing gap may represent a doorway. Grass, bilberry and heather.

SX 6392 8713 Three possible hut circles appearing as vegetation marks. Their positions at SX63928713, SX63918712, and SX63928710 may not be exact due to the lack of control in positioning these features. Visible on NMR 1977 AP.
