Three target tramways are visible on the north-west slope of West Mill Tor. Two are in poor condition. The foundations of a hexagonal (military?) building are also visible.

(16/09/2003) by English Heritage Investigator. From SX58499173 to SX58609172 are the remains of a former artillery target railway on the north flank of West Mill Tor. The remains consist of a flat-bottomed trench 2.0 metres wide and between 0.5 metres and 0.65 metres deep with a turf and stone bank 2.4 metres wide and 0.8 metres high on the eastern edge. Two crescentic hollows have been cut into the western (inside) face of the bank near the centre. There is no evidence of any mechanism.
