Name:Field system on Roborough Down, Buckland Monachorum

Summary

Several curvilinear earthwork banks and ditches, approximately 2.5 metres wide, are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards and on visualisations of lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The ditch may be a former trackway, but the banks are likely to be former field boundaries. Their irregular form suggests an early date, and they appear to be slighted by leat (MDV19902). They could be medieval but an earlier origin is feasible.
