Full description

FLETCHER, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV10257.

The 4 barrows at bickleigh brake were surveyed by eh at 1:1000 in december 2001. The summit of barrow b has been badly damaged by excavation + ploughing. It measures c.24m x c.22m x c.1.9m high. It is enclosed by a slight ditch 0.3m - 0.4m deep x c.30m diam, visible on all but the s side. The barrow is constructed of soil + small stones with some large stones + white quartz, covered by bracken + gorse (fletcher).

Diam 24m, height up to 3.5m. Central, conical depression, c.1.5m deep represents undocumented antiquarian excavation. Beyond the mound are traces of a 6m wide outer ditch between 0.1m deep on s side and 0.3m deep on nw (am).
