Summary

Ugborough house. Situated in a small valley s of the village, some way from the parish church. Formerly the vicarage. Likely that original rectory with garden and orchard was replaced by a house on this site in 16th c. When living became a vicarage. Little evidence of early origins. Alterations and additions extensive in 19th c. Dartmoor stone wall built around grounds, and trees planted 1934. Back of house thought to be very early. Occupier(1975) is examining the house (anon).
