Summary

Road bridge over Blackaton Brook. Probably 19th century. Roughly shaped blocks of granite. Low two span bridge. The vertical abutments and central pier are made up of granite blocks, some of them quite large. The pier has a pointed cutwater upstream but is square downstream. Both spans are bridged by long pieces of granite laid side by side. Similar long square-section pieces are laid as coping for the road and now plain 20th century iron railings have been set into the top.

Blackaton Bridge (east).
Road bridge over Blackaton Brook. Probably 19th century. Roughly shaped blocks of granite. Low two span bridge. The vertical abutments and central pier are made up of granite blocks, some of them quite large. The pier has a pointed cutwater upstream but is square downstream. Both spans are bridged by long pieces of granite laid side by side. Similar long square-section pieces are laid as coping for the road and now plain 20th century iron railings have been set into the top.
