Des=worksheet(griffiths 1986). Vis=21/8/1986 (griffiths). Cultivation in strips of area around luckdon, north bovey, suggested by 1780 courtenay estate map. Seven fields (wasteland, berry ball, broadland, shortland, ridganay, lower croft and higher croft) subdivided into strips rented alternately by two tenants by then (griffiths).

Two large areas of strip fields are depicted on the Tithe Map associated with Luckdon. One is to the west of the farms and is two main plots, subdivided into a number of narrow strips, running north-south. The other lies to the north-east of the farms. It is subdivided into strips mostly aligned north-west by south-east, although two plots in the centre of the area have strips aligned south-west by north-east. Closely associated to a round enclosure which is divided into two.
