A wide linear ditch is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (p1-4) running for 344m in a westerly direction to the west of Shobrooke. It continues along the E-W line of the main road through Shobrooke after the modern road turns southward into Church Lane. It is clearly of some antiquity and may be of medieval or even prehistoric origin. It was digitally plotted during the National Mapping Programme.
