Full description

Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV148.

This feature visible on aps more resembles a hut circle with entrance in west (os).

RCHM APP 1985, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV225221.

Recorded (rchm app 1985).

NMR, CITING OS, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV225223.

Sx53017504. A hut with an internal diam of 5.8m and walling 1.5m wide and 0.4m high; there is an entrance gap in the sw. This is evidently grinsell's cairn and worth's barrow.(broadly it is on the n slope of barn hill as stated by worth, but locally on the sw slope). While the structure might in isolation be construed as a cairn, the lack of any internal stone, the consistently smooth angle of the inner face of the wall and the presence of other huts and a field system militate against the worth and grinsell classifications (nmr, citing os).

RCHME, Untitled Source (Report - Survey). SDV225225.

Vis=7/7/1991 (rchme) centred sx53017499. Three hut circles survive on the n side of barn hill, 60m s of the cox tor carpark. They occupy w to wsw facing slopes at 325m above od.

NMR, CITING WILSON-NORTH, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV225226.

The northernmost hut, sx53017504 is 5.9m in diam and has slight (0.3m high) turf covered rubble walls. There is no clear entrance. Resurveyed at 1:2500 (see rchme cox tor survey 1991) (nmr, citing wilson-north).

Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV225227.
