Full description

Parkinson, M., 1985, The Axe Estuary and its Marshes (Article in Serial). SDV122290.

The 1839-40 Tithe Map shows a coal yard at the foot of Fore Street, where Marine Place now stands. Barges landed coal on the beach which was carried to the yard in carts.
