(26/07/1977) Centred SX 63976143. This settlement consists of 5 enclosures with 4 associated hut circles and 3 detached hut circles on a moderate, well drained, southeast facing slope at 275m, above OD.
SX 63976145 Two adjacent enclosures; 40m by 20m and 35m by 25m, of which the southern is probably the earlier. They have lynchetted walls, about 1.5m wide and in fair condition, built of a double row of orthostats. The two associated Type 2 hut circles, with average internal diameters of 6.5m and walls 1.4m wide, are set into the slope and have south east facing entrances. The south hut is built against, and is contemporary with or later than the enclosure, whilst the north hut is built on the wall line and probably predates it.
SX 6400 6142. This enclosure, 45m by about 40m, has been partly destroyed by the modern track. It has lynchetted walls, 1.4m wide, built of large boulders and is in very poor condition. A small yard 20m by 10m, with orthostatic wall 1.0m wide has been attached to the west side. A probable Type 2 hut circle is at the north east extremity of the enclosure. It has an internal diameter of 7.0m and a wall 1.3m wide, levelled into the hill side. It lies on the wall line, which it possibly predates.
SX 63926139 An oval enclosure measuring 30m by 20m with a wall, 1.5m wide, built of small boulders and in very poor condition. There is the possible remains of a Type 2 hut circle, internal diameter 7.5m integrated with the wall.
The three freestanding type 2 hut circles have an average internal diameter of 6.0m and walls 1.2m wide. They are terraced into the hillside and one has a possible south facing entrance. The modern track has partly destroyed one of the huts. There is no evidence of cultivation in the area which is generally free of boulders.
(Type 2 huts: SX 56 NE 71).

Agglomerated enclosure visible, badly damaged by a modern track or road, with five elements containing four hut circles.

Butler, J., 1993, Dartmoor Atlas of Antiquities: Volume Four - The South-East, 42-3, Map 54, Figure 54.4 (Monograph). SDV337765.

Multiple Enclosure 'B' is subdivided into five compartments each with a fair sized hut across its boundary with diameters between 5.2 metres to 7.3 metres. The most northerly Hut 2 is uniquely entered from the top of the wall. Two smaller huts both of 4 metres diameter lie just outside the complex but are unconnected. These two adjoining enclosures are shown on the west side of the track.

A series of attached enclosures and five associated hut circles on the lower slopes of Stall Down: part of a large concentration of huts and enclosures spread across this location. The site was recorded whist under dense summer braken. The enclosures are transected by a modrrn track and it is assumed that the features both sides of the track once formed a single complex. To the west of the ttrack is an elongated enclosure with rounded ends and a central cross division totalling 0.12 hectares in area. On the west side the wall comprises a steep scarp of up to 1.8 metres high whilst the remaining walls are made up of turf-covered banks with boulders representing the remains of the structure. Both sub-divisions contain large hut circles comprising substantial stony banks with much stone surviving in situ.
