What appears to be a leat runs from Head Weir, shadowing the Exe southwards to cross it on an aqueduct at ST94921350, and continue south and east before petering out.

'Black Bridge' over the Exe north of Tiverton, but half a mile below the weir. Now swept away. Carried water from ditches to fields on east side of river.

Date of leat construction is unknown but Head Weir dates from 1677. Leat depicted crossing 'Middle Ham' field on Ordnance Survey (1890) map.
