Lady Elizabeth Bowner, died 1548, wife of Edward Chichester is seen kneeling at a low desk.

The earliest brass in Devon is probably the reverse side of the palimpsest brass at Braunton. A fragment of a plate showing a knight with a moustache, wearing a camail of concentric ringmail and what is apparently a Bascinet type of helmet. Style of armour date circa 1370. Obverse side carries engraving of Lady Elizabeth Bowcer, the inscription dates it as 1548.
