Marwood's causeway. A plan dated 1839 is annotated "marwood's causeway" around the stopgate crossroads, though the feature itself is not marked. Two fields adjoining stopgate to the n are also called "causey close" in the 1817 enclosure awards. See also st21sw/7 (simpson et al).

Vis=23/9/1992 (simpson + noble) nothing indicative of a causeway, road or earthwork is visible in the fields around stopgate crossroads. Most of those fields appear to be ploughed regularly.
