Laithwaite, M., 1987, Report on the Tiverton Castle Project 1987, 9,12,14 (Un-published). SDV35428.

Risdon describes Earl Edward's tomb (MDV4576) as being in a chapel in Tiverton churchyard, and gives the impression that both chapel and tomb survived to his day. Swete wrote of them in 1792 as if they no longer existed. A 1527 will refers to "the chapell of our blessyd lady, stonding in the churche yearde without the churche aforeseid" for which Earl Edward had evidently left money for two Chantry priests.
